Barnetby-le-Wold Village

Barnetby-le-Wold Village

An old fire station door with a bell mounted in a brick arch above it

The village lies at the northern edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds and is located midway between Scunthorpe and Grimsby, about 8 miles south of the River Humber.

It has been a settlement since at least Roman times seeing a major expansion in the 19th century due to the railway.

It is well served in terms of transport as it lies just south of the M180/A180/A15 interchange. Barnetby Station has frequent services to Liverpool Lime Street (via Doncaster and Manchester) and Lincoln. A bus service runs through to Scunthorpe (via Brigg) and Humberside Airport is only 4 miles away providing international access.

The village has a selection of shops, a public house and both St Barnabas School and St Barnabas Church.  There are many village groups which together make it a popular village to live in.
